Blueprint Desktop 1.1.0, the newest set that has been built. IRIX, Linux, NetBSD, and FreeBSD were cut on 31 October 2026. Solaris was cut on 1 November 2026. AIX is a portable archive from tip d5b129ff. OpenBSD did not produce a package in this set.

Checksums for every file: SHA256SUMS.

The long form, per system: IRIX, Linux, NetBSD, FreeBSD, Solaris.

How to install

The portable archive is the same shape on every system. Unpack it and, as root, run ./cyanotype.install. ./cyanotype.install now accepts the license without the prompts. Files land in /usr/local. CyLogin ships in the package and stays off unless that run has CYANOTYPE_EPM_ENABLE_CYLOGIN=yes.

Native packages, when you would rather use the system installer:

IRIX 6.5, MIPS

Cut on Toaster, an SGI O2, from tip 143893db.

Linux, x86_64

Cut on slab, Debian, from tip 2c55d43c. Motif and Xft are in the package. The .deb still depends on the host X11, GL, ALSA, and PAM libraries.

NetBSD, amd64

Cut on wedge, NetBSD 10.1, from tip 446d0dfb. pkg_add will want MesaLib and brotli, and the base X libraries.

FreeBSD, amd64

Cut on daemon, FreeBSD 15.1, from tip 615cad33. This one is the earlier cut and is still dynamically linked. The Linux and NetBSD packages above are the later static cuts.

Solaris 8, sparc

Cut on rollin60, a Sun Ultra 60, from tip 1178a1dc, on 1 November 2026. libgcc is static. Motif, X11, and GL stay shared with the host. The machine needs CDE Motif in /usr/dt and OpenWindows in /usr/openwin.

pkgadd reads the datastream. pkgadd -d cyanotype-1.1.0-solaris-sparc.pkgstream cyanotype installs it. The .pkg.gz file is gzip of that same datastream. Gunzip it, then use the same pkgadd. The .pkg.tgz file is the package directory, with pkgmap, pkginfo, and the tree. Unpack it and run pkgadd -d . cyanotype in that directory. A noninteractive install uses the admin file: pkgadd -a solaris-pkgadd.admin -n -d cyanotype-1.1.0-solaris-sparc.pkgstream cyanotype.

AIX 6.1, powerpc

Cut on sailfish from tip d5b129ff. Portable archive only. There is no installp fileset and no RPM. Motif, X11, and PAM stay shared with the host, as the .a archives in /usr/lib. The install script stops if any of these are missing: libXm.a, libX11.a, libXt.a, libXext.a, libXcursor.a, libXdamage.a, libXfixes.a, libXrender.a, libXtst.a, libpam.a. It wants 434163 kbytes free under /usr.

This host had no GLX. cyclock, cyclock-prefs, icosahedra, and icosmoke are not in the archive. cyosk is the X11 build.

AIX tar does not open gzip. Unpack into an empty directory, then as root run ./cyanotype.install. ./cyanotype.install now accepts the license without the prompts. Files land in /usr/local. The payload in this archive is cyanotype.ss. CyLogin ships and stays off unless that run has CYANOTYPE_EPM_ENABLE_CYLOGIN=yes.

mkdir cyanotype-1.1.0
cd cyanotype-1.1.0
gzip -dc ../cyanotype-1.1.0-aix-powerpc.tar.gz | tar -xvf -
./cyanotype.install

Source

The 1.2.0 source tree, cut from main tip f3779256 on 2 November 2026. It is a build tree, not a git checkout. Unpack it, then ./configure --prefix=/usr/local, make, and make install. Use gmake where make is not GNU make. You need a C99 compiler, X11 headers, and Motif. Xft is optional. Without it the desktop uses core fonts. This file is not the NetBSD package cyanotype-1.1.0.tgz.

Cyanotype Project. Blueprint Desktop. BSD 2-clause. Not affiliated with Silicon Graphics. SGI, IRIX, and Indigo Magic belong to their owners. 1.0 is aimed at 31 October 2026.
